If asked about clothes, every one of us would say that clothes should be as fresh as spring. Especially when one is wearing them. But with all the perspiration and toil, that seems like a distant dream. So undoubtedly, textiles that can inhibit the effects of sweat - the bacterial growth, the related smell, and the infestation of microbes in the fabric leading to faded colour and performance, are the order of the day.

Recron® has found a unique solution to this problem. SILVER. Since the days of yore, silver has been acknowledged as an antimicrobial metal capable of preventing the growth and even killing many different species of bacteria and fungi. That explains why our ancestors preferred being served food on a silver platter and put a silver coin in stored water.

So, Recron’s in-house R&D team came up with Recron® FeelFresh - a high-tech polyester fibre that has silver ions incorporated in it. This lends the Recron® FeelFresh staple fibre and products made from this a permanent antimicrobial and antifungal properties.

With the finest form of silver dispersed inside the polymer, Recron® FeelFresh becomes endowed with many properties and features. Primarily, it is antimicrobial and thus prevents odour from perspiration. This is because sweat itself is odourless.

But bacteria and microbes from our surroundings and on our skin come in contact with sweat. That’s when volatile, pungent odours are released and our clothes start to smell or stink. Recron® FeelFresh inhibits the very growth of these microbes.

In a nutshell :
  • The bacteria is a single cell micro-organism
  • As silver is incorporated in the yarn in the form of ions, it releases +ve silver ions continuously
  • These +ve silver ions come in contact with the single cell bacteria on our clothes
  • They attack and break down bacteria cell bodies to prevent further growth of bacteria/microbes and thus avoid odour.
